ANDREW
GUNN

For more than two decades, Andrew Gunn has dedicated his career to supporting students and teachers. An educator with 22 years of experience, Andrew began his career as a social studies teacher and coach, serving in the classroom and on the field for nine years before moving into school leadership. Now in his 12th year as a principal, he currently serves as the principal at Oak Mountain High School. He has previously served as principal of Chelsea Middle School and Helena Middle School, where under his leadership the school rose from a “B” to an “A” on the state report card.
Raised in Hamilton, Alabama, Andrew attended Samford University on a football scholarship, where he earned his undergraduate degree in education and later a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. He went on to complete an Education Specialist degree at UAB and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Instructional Leadership at the University of Montevallo.
Beyond his professional titles and degrees, Andrew is a husband and father. He and his wife Allison are raising four children Jack (15), Will (3), and twins Virginia and Mary (1) in North Shelby County. Their family is active in All Saints Episcopal Church, where faith and service are central to their lives.
Grounded in family values, faith, and a deep belief in the power of education, Andrew Gunn is committed to supporting families and teachers to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.
